This Sunday in worship we wonder about hunger, thirst, and what Jesus may have meant by referring to himself as the bread of life. As we gather for the sacrament of communion, Dave Dougall will be leading music on organ, and Jessy Ernewein on piano and voice.

The scripture readings this week is John 6:24-35. Read it here.

Food for the Residents of A Better Tent City

We are joining other churches in KW to provide food for the 50 residents of A Better Tent City, a program which addresses homelessness, and is a no-barrier alternative to shelters. Read more here.
Beginning July 31, every other week Knox Waterloo will be taking responsibility for providing breakfast for the 50 residents of A Better Tent City. Thank you to all those who have signed up to date! Knox is still looking for a few more volunteers to bake two dozen (24) portions of healthy baked goods: muffins, scones or protein bars/balls in late August and September.
Please click on the below link to sign up. Baked goods need to be dropped off Thursday or Friday of the week you register for. If you have any questions, please contact Femmy here.

Reception House, which has been a guest at our Community Services Sundays and which settles government-sponsored refugees, will be hosting their annual Not Another Gala fundraiser on August 27.  This event will be offered both in-person (COVID precautions permitting) and virtually. After months of few arrivals because of the pandemic, the number of newcomers will be increasing substantially in the next 6 months. For more information, or if you would like to buy tickets for the gala, go to this site.
Their 2020 Community Report is most informative and heartening.

September 12 is the target date for reopening Knox for in-person worship. The Knox COVID Health & Safety Team will provide more details closer to the date. All health and safety protocols required at that time will be followed.
