Indigenous Peoples’ Sunday • June 22nd at 10am

Mark your calendars for a special worship service at Knox Waterloo as we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Sunday on June 22nd at 10 am. We welcome as our guest speaker residential school survivor Lila Bruyere and musical guests Eric Jackson, a Metis singer/songwriter and The Willow River Band. Lila will share her story with us and Eric and band will continue the Indigenous storytelling through music.

We hope that you will invite family, friends and neighbours to join us for this time of listening, wisdom sharing, and taking steps on the sacred path of reconciliation. We invite the congregation to wear ORANGE or their orange shirts (Every child matters) to show your support.

As part of the service we will be joining in a Prayer of Healing and Reconciliation, which will include a series of petitions echoing the themes and language the 2024 Apology of The Presbyterian Church in Canada for Its Complicity in Colonization and the Residential School System. We encourage you to read the attached apology prior to worship on Sunday.
