Advent 3

Prelude

Call to Worship

One: We gather to worship God,
All: the One who dreamed up the beauties of creation and the mystery of life.
One: Today we follow the lead of Mary
All: and allow our souls to sing.
One: Our gratitude pours from us
All: in loving our neighbor, working for justice, praying for peace, and sharing our joy.

Sung Response: Hope is a star vs. 3

Joy is a song that welcomes the dawn,
telling the world that Saviour is born.
When God is a child there’s joy in our song.
The last shall be first and the weak shall be strong,
and none shall be afraid.

Scripture: Luke 1: 46-55

Doxology: #145 In the bleak mid-winter, v. 4

What can I give him,
poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd,
I would bring a lamb;
if I were a wise one,
I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him —
give my heart.
