Coffee Hour Hosts Needed – Sign up sheet is on the bulletin board! This is a great way for you/family/friends to get involved and meet people. It’s easy. Coffee is made for you and you just need to refill and clean up after the service!

The Inclusion Initiatives Committee will meet in the lounge on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 7:00 pm. New members are always welcome.

Nursery Help – Looking for help on the 2nd and 4th Sunday each month. If you can help one Sunday per month, contact Carole Clyde-Ellis at carole@knoxwaterloo.ca.

Wed@Knox, Jan 22nd Linda Ashfield: Burns and Kirk – Our long time Minister and now Associate Minister at Knox is going to present the interesting relationship that Robbie Burns had with the Kirk. He was ahead of his time in equal rights and had no problem in pointing out the shortcomings of the leaders of the time in his poetry.

Calling all adults and teens interested in handbells or tone chimes! We are planning an introductory handbell play-in with some of the members of St Andrew’s Presbyterian, Kitchener, on Sunday, January 19th from 1:30-2:30 pm. We’ll meet at St Andrew’s and learn some handbell music, and then discuss the possibilities of playing at both churches periodically. The ability to read music is not required, but would be helpful. We can teach you what you need to know! For more information, and to RSVP, send a message to Deb Lacoste (debra.lacoste@gmail.com or 519-807-9687).

Are You College Or University-Age (a student, working or in-between)? Food for Thought meets on Sunday nights at 6:30 pm for a FREE dinner & study at the Matthews’ (774 Belmont Ave W, Kitchener). For details check: www.knoxwaterloo.ca/fft.

Save the Date! Tuesday, February 25th Pancake Supper. Sr. Youth to sign up. See sign up sheet on the bulletin board.

Cooks Needed for Food for Thought – if you can provide a meal on March 8th or 15th, please sign up on the sheet on the Knox bulletin board. Thanks for sharing your gift of hospitality with hungry and very appreciative students!

Brooke & Linda Ashfield Retirement Celebration (June 20-21, 2020) – save the dates in your calendar as we plan to celebrate the Ashfields 30+ years at Knox Waterloo during a weekend celebration in June. There will be many ways to participate. See the bulletin board for more details!

February 9th – Save the Date – During the service we will be paying tribute to Terry English, Music Director from May 2007 to December 31, 2019. Terry deserves a big Knox thank you for all her contributions to our music ministry during her tenure. Following the service you are invited to attend a reception.

2019 Annual Meeting is on Sunday, February 23rd, at 2 pm in the Knox room. Please send your reports to Ruth Song (ruth.song@knoxwaterloo.ca) by January 19th.

Potato Blitz – Saturday, February 8th – Volunteers Needed! During this one day ‘blitz’, volunteers at grocery stores across the region aim to collect over $20K in cash and 50K pounds of potatoes! Some potatoes will immediately be used by the Emergency Food Hamper Program, and some will be stored. Knox will be supporting the potato blitz, as we have in the past, by collecting at two stores (Valu Mart Uptown Waterloo and Freshco University and Bridge St Waterloo). Sharon Feldmann is looking for volunteers to cover two hours shifts (9 – 11 am, 11 am-1 pm, 1 – 3 pm). We have found that four people at each location per shift works well. Please let sharonfel@gmail.com know if you can help out. Note: The Freshco 9 – 11 am shift is now full.
