Advent and Christmas is clearly now on everyone’s mind. As Remembrance Day comes to a close and as the snow begins falling we see signs of Christmas popping up everywhere.

The Christmas Eve signup sheets are on the bulletin board and we hope you will consider helping us that evening. It takes a lot of Knox folk to host four Christmas Eve Services and we are so grateful for those who will usher, greet, hand out candles, light the Christ candle etc. There is also a signup sheet for the Longest Night Service, this year at 8 p.m. on December 21st. You might want to start thinking about someone from your own circle of friends and family who would benefit from coming to this quiet evening service.

The Senior High Group is now taking orders for poinsettia plants. You can choose from four sizes and three colours. Please send in your order (to by Sunday, November 24th. The plants will be at Knox on December 10th. Funds raised will help to buy groceries for the Ray of Hope Dinners the Senior Highs will be providing later in the spring time.

The Knox Directory is almost ready. However, we have on last call for those who have not had their photo taken and still want it included in the photo directory. Please submit a digital photo to by December 1st. If you do not have a photo to submit, Charlene is willing to take your photo. Please be in touch with her as soon as possible.

This Sunday, November 17th the sermon “Look up!” is based on Isaiah 65:17-25 and Luke 21:5-19. Corey Cotter-Linforth will be singing and Hugh will be teaching the children another wonderful song. Our clerk of Session, Deb Schlichter will be speaking again about a section of our budget and our third witnessing steward is Amy Wolf. These last few weeks of the year are always important for us to meet our budget. Thank you to those who gave an Anniversary offering. The Anniversary gift can be given any time in November.

May God’s peace and grace be with you,

Linda Ashfield, Associate Minister at Knox Waterloo
