What joy we had on Palm Sunday as we sang “Hosanna! Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” Thanks to the Praise Band for leading us in music and the children who waved the palms and sang as they marched throughout the sanctuary.

It was a delight  to confirm 6 teens and welcome 26 new members to Knox (4 by adult confirmation and 1 through adult baptism). We are  blessed  by the gifts of our new members and it is our desire that we will continue to grow in Christ together.

Thursday, April 18th we gather at a table upstairs in the Knox Room at 7:30 for a short Maundy Thursday service. There will be readings and communion as we remember the Last Supper Jesus had with his friends before his arrest. Amanda Farquhar will lead us in music on her flute.

Friday, April 19th we meet in the Sanctuary for our Good Friday worship service. The choir will be singing “Here is Love” a Good Friday Cantata by Larry Shackley. There is a program for children and afterwards the Junior High invite us all into the hall for a time of hot-cross buns and refreshments.

We meet at 7:30 am in the Atrim on Easter Sunday (April 21) and walk to Waterloo Park for a short outdoor service. A potluck Easter breakfast takes place in the church hall around 8:15 am (no nuts/peanuts).

At 10 am we gather in the Sanctuary for our traditional Easter Celebration. As we declare that “Christ is risen”, we look forward to hearing the story of the Empty Tomb and singing our Easter carols. A Brass Quintet (2 trumpets, french horn, trombone and tuba) will accompany the worship service.

This is a wonderful time of year to invite friends and family to join you at church. The music and the message of Easter bring hope as we hear the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

God’s blessing to each of you as we declare that “Christ has died. Christ has risen! Christ will come again!”
