Community Connections Sunday
January 23rd at 10 am
We look forward to our Community Connections Sunday on January 23rd, welcoming Henriëtte Thompson as preacher, and Becky Voll leading Fun with the Young at Heart portions of the service. Both join us representing Faith Climate Justice for the Waterloo Region, a growing collective of faith communities in the Waterloo Region advocating for climate action and a just recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. They work ecumenically and also encourage interfaith connections to discern how to step up our commitment to climate justice. Henriëtte will explore the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman and how it is inspiration for interfaith dialogue rooted in place.
Henriëtte and Becky are both leaders in Faith Climate Justice for the Waterloo Region. Read more about them here.

Join us as we learn and grow together to be good stewards of the environment, seeking climate justice.

Make a Gift to Knox

To the Knox Waterloo Community,
Knox is deeply concerned about the continued rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in our community and the burden this is placing on our health care system.
In response to this, the Knox COVID Health & Safety Team has decided that until at least February 1st:

  1. no in-person programming will be permitted, and
  2. worship will take place exclusively via live-streaming and radio at 10 am Sunday mornings. Tune in to CKWR-FM 98.5, stream on-line at knoxwaterloo.ca, or enjoy services posted to our knoxwaterloo YouTube channel.

The office will be staffed during regular office hours with rigorous COVID protocols in place. Donations may be left in the mailbox by the parking lot doors.
The Knox COVID Health & Safety Team will meet—at minimum—every two weeks to reassess these decisions and is prepared to meet at any time as new information emerges. This frequency of meeting allows the team to be responsive to continually evolving changes related to the pandemic.
As followers of Jesus, we consider the needs of others as well as ourselves. A desire to serve the world in a spirit of love motivates us to act for the well-being of all, considering the safety of both congregation and community. We embody this spirit of care by adhering to Public Health guidelines, reducing the number of in-person interactions, masking, and getting vaccinated.
We give thanks for the gifts of those working in difficult circumstances to help us all stay resilient during the challenge of these days.

In Christ,
Rev. Hugh Donnelly & Rev. Courtney Crawford

Futures Initiative Youth Conversation (Jr. & Sr. High)
Sunday, Jan 30th @ 11:30 am on Zoom
All Junior and Senior High youth (Sunday school & LOGOS) are invited to participate in an upcoming conversation related to the Knox Waterloo Futures Initiatives. Living with the reality of an ongoing pandemic presents us, as a community of faith, with both challenge and opportunity. How can the Knox community respond both proactively and creatively to this “new normal” in which we find ourselves? We believe that each of YOU has something meaningful to add to this conversation that will help shape our future. This will be an hour-long conversation on zoom beginning at 11:30 am. This initiative will be most effective the more youth that participate. REGISTER HERE (to access registration, click on the date (Jan 30th) and time and press confirm) by Friday, January 28th if you plan to participate and a zoom link will be sent out to you.
