Call to Worship:

One: Sing to the Lord a new song.
All: We take joy in God, our Maker!
One: How good and how lovely it is
All: when we live together in harmony.
One: Love and faith come together,
All: justice and peace join hands.

Hymn 470 “You that know the Lord is gracious”

Gathering Prayer – followed by Lord’s Prayer

O God, come into our heart, into our mind, into our community gathered this morning. Focus our vision that we may see you in the symbols of faith and in each other. Sharpen our hearing that we may discern your voice among the sounds we hear. Embrace us with your loving touch through friends and neighbors.

We confess to you, O God, that sometimes we take your church for granted. We need each other, but can be quarrelsome and divisive. We neglect the ministry of encouraging one another and offering hospitality. We forget that you work powerfully in this world through your church. Give us a new vision of your love for one and all, and bind us together in your abiding grace. We pray in the Spirit of Christ, who taught the disciples to say: Our Father…

Peace Invocation: “Shalom”

May the peace of the Lord be with you
At home and in your heart
Shalom with you abide

Hymn “For the life that you have given”

For the life that you have given,
For the love in Christ made known,
With these fruits of time and labour,
With these gifts that are your own:
Here we offer, Lord, our praises;
Heart and mind and strength we bring;
Give us grace to love and serve you,
Living what we pray and sing.
