Daughters of Christ meets this Tuesday, September 3rdat 1:30 pm in the Church Lounge. We would love to welcome you to this small group study of the book of Pilippians. We follow the study with treats and fellowship.

Knox Chancel Choir will begin rehearsals Thursday, September 5that 7:30 p.m. New members are welcomed!

On Sunday, September 29th we will be thanking Laura Vander Vleuten for her 16 years as our Christian Education Director. If you would like to contribute towards a gift, please speak to Shirley Carter (Personnel Committee) or Ruth Song or Charlene Janes in the church office.

Regular Sunday School begins on Sunday, September 8thfor children in Kindergarten to Grade 12. Nursery/toddler care is available in Room 106/107. If you are interested in teaching or assisting in a classroom this Fall, please speak to Rev. Linda Ashfield. Preschool and Nursery care providers are also needed.

Sunday School Registration is September 15thand 22ndin the Church Hall after worship. Parents please check that your child is registered and that your contact information is updated.

Are You College Or University-Age (a student, working or in-between)? Food for Thought meets on Sunday nights, beginning with a FREE DINNER & GAME NIGHT on Sept. 15th, 6:30 pm, at the Matthews’ (774 Belmont Ave W, Kitchener). Photo Directory – We are in the process of organizing the Photo Directory and updating the section on contacts. The format will be the same as in previous directories, listing your name(s), street address, phone number, and email address. Wednesday @ Knox (W@K) will resume on September 18th, 11:30 am to 1 pm. Margaret Brockett will share her involvement with the Sanctuary Refugee Health Centre, offering care and support for our refugee newcomers.

Logos MANDATORY Adult Participant Meeting & Registration: Thursday, September 12th, 7:00 to 8:30 pm – This is a reminder that all children attendees need to have a parent participate in Logos. If that date does not work, we will meet after worship on September 15th. Also, if you are feeling called to something specific in Logos, talk to someone on the Steering Committee or email the Logos Director– Jennifer Yessis (Reist)

Logos will begin September 26th until December 12th. We will start again January 16, 2020 and continue until March 5thwith two weeks off at March break, then re-start March 26thuntil April 23rd!

Ride for Refuge is taking place locally on Oct0ber 5th. This is an opportunity to walk or cycle to fundraise for a charity of your choice. Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D) is forming a team to raise money for maternal, newborn and child health in Malawi and Afghanistan. All funds raised are matched by the government at a ratio of 4:1. Interested? See the note on the bulletin board or speak to Grant or Femmy Birks.

“Praying for 31 Countries Around the World Where Religious Persecution is High” is a resource that has been put together by the International Affairs Committee of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. This resource is a helpful guide and is full of useful background information. Copies are available at the Welcome Desk.

Building Maintenance – September 8th – The parking lot entrance will not be available for entry from 1 pm, Sunday, September 8th through Monday evening, September 9th. The entrance will be reopen on Tuesday, September 10th. The closure is necessary to seal the cement at the entrance way and under the clothes racks due to salt damage.
