A couple of years ago, the Session of Knox Church created a Transition Team as we were aware that many of our staff were planning on either retiring or stepping down from their positions. Laura Vander Vleuten has indicated that she will be ending her position as Christian Educator on July 31stafter 16 years in this role here at Knox. As she indicated, “I have achieved everything I set out to accomplish – and more. I am now looking forward to pursuing some new opportunities that will challenge me and use my gifts.” Laura and Ken will continue as members at Knox and the Transition Team (along with the Session) will be arranging for interim help over the summer and the fall. We look forward to celebrating with and thanking Laura for her incredible ministry later in the fall. Thank you Laura for what you have done to promote faith formation in our children, youth, and adults here at Knox.

Easy Worship Volunteers – We are looking for 1 more new people to be trained in Easy Worship – that’s the people who put the images and words on the screen to aid us in worship. If you are at all interested in finding out more, please speak to Ruth Song, Rev. Linda Ashfield and/or Andrew Church.

With the many disasters that people in our world are facing, we are thankful that PWS&D continues to work with its partners to be God’s healing hand in the face of pain and suffering. Currently, they are providing food assistance for drought-affected people in Pakistan and ongoing support for those affected by floods in Malawi and war in Yemen. The list goes on… Donations to PWS&SD can be made through Knox Waterloo by cheque, donating online, or using your credit card or debit card at the church. If you wish, you can mark your donation for a specific appeal. In many instances, as in the case of Pakistan, the donations will be matched 4:1 by the Government of Canada.
