“Praying for 31 Countries Around the World Where Religious Persecution is High” is a resource that has been put together by the International Affairs Committee of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. As recent events in Sri Lanka and New Zealand have shown, religious persecution is a reality in many corners of our world today. We see how fragile peace can be, and how vital it is to support each other’s ability to worship and live in safety. As Christians, our prayers, and the actions for just peace that we are moved to, are a way to respond to our calling to be good neighbours. This resource is a helpful guide and is full of useful background information. Copies are available at the Welcome Desk.

Vacation Bible Camp, July 15-19, 2019 earned $2000. Donations of $1000 each were made to the Food Bank and the Growing Hope Farm. Thanks to all of those who donated!

Sunday Morning Attendant– There is an opening for a part-time Sunday morning attendant for two or three Sundays per month, beginning as soon as possible. This will involve being at the church between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm on Sunday.

Duties include:

  • open church and complete various tasks in preparation for worship at 10 am
  • provide on-site security during the worship services
  • lock the church at the end of the shift

Applicants must be able to move tables, chairs and chancel furniture when necessary. Attention to detail is essential. Candidates are invited to apply with a full resume to the Personnel Committee of Knox Church in care of the church office. The successful candidate will be bondable and will have a police check.

Event Attendants:Knox is fortunate to have a facility that is much in demand in our community. We give space to our partners in ministry and have a rental scale that offers preferential rates to not-for-profit agencies. The increase in demand means that Knox will need to train some new ‘Event Attendants’ to provide set-up, monitor activities, sometimes provide sound or video services, take-down and clean up. Training is provided. A police check is required. Equitable pay is offered. The successful candidates will require some technical know-how, or the ability to learn, and be physically able to move tables and chairs.
