This Sunday, April 14th is Palm Sunday; the day we remember Jesus entry into Jerusalem. It begins what we call Holy Week – as we commemorate the last week of Christ’s life.

The Praise Band will be leading us in worship and we will all sing “There’s a man riding in on a donkey” as the children parade around the church waving palms as they follow the ‘donkey’.

The scriptures are Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and Luke 19:28-40 and  the theme of the sermon reflection is “A time to be silent and a time to speak out”.

This Sunday we will celebrate the Confirmation of six Knox young people: Naomi Ellis, Kate Ferguson, Natalie Lacoste, Ainsley Milne, Thomas Rozomiak and Blake Wolf.

We will also be welcoming new members who are joining through a profession of faith (baptism or confirmation) or from another church community.

After worship the grades 5/6 will be hosting their Annual Bake Sale in the church hall. Proceeds this year are going to a school on the Six Nations reserve in Ontario – Skaronhyase’ko:wa Tyohterakentko:wa tsi yontaweya’tah-kwa, The Everlasting Tree School. If you are baking something for the sale please bring it (peanut and nut free) to the kitchen before worship.

Please don’t forget to come to worship scent free.

“Hosanna! blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!”

Let us join our voices with those of ancient times to welcome our Saviour into our hearts and lives.
