LOGOS
LOGOS is a mid-week intergenerational ministry that has been going on for over 30 years at Knox Waterloo. In LOGOS, we have cross-generational gatherings, where young people and adults eat together, play together, study the bible together, and worship together. When effectively practised, this intergenerational ministry has shown to be highly effective in:
passing on the faith to younger generations
nurturing children and youth on their faith journey
energizing the whole church through the building of relationships
Age Groups:
Preschool (Ages 2-5 years but not yet in Grade 1)
Grades 1-5 (Primary)
Grades 6-8 (Junior High)
Grades 9-12 (Senior High)
"Apostles' teaching" = Bible Study
"Fellowship" = Recreation
"Breaking of bread" = Family Time
""Prayer" = Worship Arts
What is LOGOS?
LOGOS is an intentional time for all ages to come together to learn about God and experience activities that grow their relationship with God and others. At each LOGOS gathering, participants take part in Bible study, recreation, a family-style meal, and a variety of worship arts to lead in worship. These four parts are fashioned after the early church in Acts 2:42 (CEB), “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” LOGOS is a purposeful and planned ministry led by parents, grandparents and other adults who share their God-given gifts.

Recreation and activity
Recreation provides an excellent practice arena for growing Christian relationships as young people and leaders practice playing theologically, respecting the worth, dignity, and preciousness of one another, learning to live by the only rule of LOGOS:
Treat every person as a child of God. No one is to treat others as if they do not matter. -
Worship arts
Worship Arts provides the opportunity for children and youth to creatively participate in the worship life of the congregation through drama, music and art.
-
Bible time
As a model for Christ-centred living, the Bible is explored in small groups. Mutual investment is encouraged where every voice is invited to speak, is heard, and is respected. This is a time to dig deeper, where questions are encouraged and explored in a safe and open environment. Biblical themes, characters and stories come alive through conversation and activity.

Family time
The goal of LOGOS Family Time is to experience being part of God’s family over a shared meal. As well as enjoying a meal together, table games add fun around the meal time.
