In Defense of Kindness

In Defense of Kindness: Why It Matters, How It Changes Our Lives, and How It Can Save The World?
by Bruce Reyes-Chow

Bruce Reyes-Chow is a Presbyterian pastor, leadership coach, speaker, and activist who was inspired, when watching the movie about Fred Rogers, to write this book. The chapters are short and easy to read, with questions for reflection at the end.

The author takes great pains to explain that being kind is not the same as being nice. Some examples: How can we be kind in situations of conflict? How can we be kind in the public square? It’s all dished up with a touch of humour.

Author’s definition: to be kind is to accept that each person is a created and complex human being – and to treat them as if you believe this to be true.
