Activist Alphabet
Activist Alphabet by Donna Sinclair, by Donna Sinclair
Donna Sinclair is an author and journalist, now retired, who has written extensively for the United Church Obsever, now Broadview Magazine. She is also an activist, concerned with protecting the environment. In her introduction to Activist Alphabet she wonders, “How does it happen that a rather shy and not-terribly-brave individual finds herself getting arrested on Parliament Hill?” This inspiring book holds much wisdom as she recounts some of her experiences of the past few years.
Here’s a sampling of chapter titles:
A is for Audacity ….
B is for Beauty ….
K is for Kindness ….
P is for Prayer …..
Donna has followed this book with Saving the Future: Lessons in Resistance from Young Activists. Some of the young activists named are Greta Thunberg, Robin Wall Kimmerer who wrote Braiding Sweetgrass, and Shannen Koostachin, a young Indigenous student, who campaigned for a new school in her community.
Both books are in the Knox Library
