Lent Study: Bless the Lent we actually have

6-Week Group Study: February 25 to April 1st

Wednesdays from 1:15 to 2:45pm in the Knox Lounge

This Lent, you’re invited to a gentle, honest, and hope-filled weekly group study based on Kate Bowler’s Bless the Lent We Actually Have. Rather than striving for a “perfect” Lent, this study makes space for the real lives we’re living—full of beauty, grief, resilience, doubt, and grace.

Together, we’ll reflect on Bowler’s thoughtful insights alongside scripture, poetry and visual art that deepen each week’s Lenten theme, offering multiple ways to engage heart, mind, and spirit. Whether Lent feels heavy, tender, or quietly hopeful this year, this group is a place to pause, wonder, and be reminded that God meets us exactly where we are.

Week 1 (Feb 25): Blessed are the fragile and imperfect (Psalm 51 & Matthew 4:1-11)

Week 2 (March 4): Blessed are the curious (John 3: 1-17)

Week 3 (March 11): Blessed are those who suffer (Romans 5: 1-11)

Week 4 (March 18): Blessed are those who feel alone (Psalm 23)

Week 5 (March 25): Blessed are those who mourn (John 11:1-45)

Week 6 (April 1): Blessed are those who hope still (Luke 23:1-56)
