On Shrove Tuesday, February 16th, check out our Knox Waterloo Facebook pages and YouTube channel to find a Shrove Tuesday Litany & Prayer. Shrove Tuesday is the feast that happens the night before the beginning of Lent. Shrove comes from the Word shrive which refers to the act of the confession and forgiveness of sin. This night sets the tone for the Season of Lent, a time during which we confess our need for God and strive to practice deeper discipleship. Traditionally, on the feast of Shrove Tuesday people would use up all the fatty foods in their house by making pancakes before beginning Lent, a season of fasting and simplifying.

You are invited to Ash Wednesday worship at Knox on Feb 17th. The service will be:

    • Posted on our YouTube channel at 7:30AM on Feb 17
    • Livestreamed on our website at 7:30PM on Feb 17

Have a small bit of ash or olive oil on hand if you wish to participate in the ritual, which you may do alone or with others.

Wednesdays beginning Feb 17th
