One: Emmanuel: God, you are with us.
All: We have heard the promise of the prophets;
One: we have caught the notes of an angel’s song;
All: we have seen a star in the heavens.
One: This day, we have come to be with you
All: because you have come to be with us.
One: We seek an innocent, helpless baby in a crude manger;
All: we seek a Saviour who will reign with justice.
One: And you, O God, who are the strongest and weakest,
All: the mightiest and humblest, have found us.
One: Now we may love each other as you desire, crying aloud:
