Many thanks to all those who supported the Junior High Pumpkin fundraiser. We raised $340.00 for the Food Bank.

Senior High Poinsettia fundraiser starts today. Place your order in the Hall during coffee hour. FOUR different sizes and THREE different colour choices! Delivery is Thursday Nov 30 and Sunday Dec 3. All proceeds support the Senior High dinner for Ray of Hope.

ARE YOU COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY-AGE (a student, working or in-between)? Food for Thought meets on Sunday nights at the Matthews’ (774 Belmont Ave W, Kitchener) with A FREE MEAL at 6:30 pm, followed by a time of study and discussion. Questions? Support the Tree of Angels, Cookies/brownies in a jar. The LOGOS Jr High will be making and selling cookies and brownies in a jar for $8 each. With the money raised, we will take them to buy gifts for the Tree of Angels. You can also support us by donating to purchase supplies or a new unwrapped toy, book etc. Pre-order after church up to Nov 12 or email Vaughn (vaughnsauve[at]gmail.com) with your order to guarantee your jars. They will be ready for pick up on Nov19.  We are also looking for adult volunteers during LOGOS Nov 16 to assemble the jars.

Wednesday at Knox Nov 8 – Band of Friends: “Singalong” The Band of Friends plays weekly at Freeport Hospital as part of a recreation therapy program. We had such a good time singing along with them last year, we’ve invited them back this fall! Come ready to sing out with this talented and lively band as they lead us in popular tunes from recent and not so recent decades.

Contributions to ACross the Pews are always welcome. Please send photos, articles and announcements no later than midnight Wednesday Nov. 15 to Sue Senior (acrossthepews[at]gmail.com) The Winter Quarterly print edition will be available in early December.

Christmas Bazaar Nov 18: Bake Table is requesting donations of any Christmas baking, fudge, squares (preferably in half dozen quantities), pies and preserves. These items can be placed in the kitchen on Friday Nov 17 between 9 to 3 p.m. Note: We prefer peanut free items, however items containing peanuts will be accepted but must be wrapped separately and clearly marked “May contain peanuts”. Please contact Nancy Holland at (519)699-5590 or email (nancyh[at]golden.net) for any questions. White Elephant items can be brought in to church from Sunday, Nov 12 till Friday Nov 17.

Christmas Cakes: Please sign up for your Christmas Cakes on the bulletin board. There are also flyers at the welcome desk and office if you could hang one up to advertise the Christmas Bazaar.

Christmas Pageant “Twas the Light Before Christmas” is Sunday Dec 10. Young people interested in participating come to the Knox Room next Sunday (Nov 12) after Worship. We will read through the script and hand out parts. Rehearsals are Nov 19,26, Dec 3 11:15-12:15 and dress rehearsal is Sat Dec 9, 10am-12. Adult help would be appreciated, see Laura V

Women Together Monday Nov 20, 7:30-9pm ‘Going Public’ with Women’s History: The need to tell trailblazing stories. Guest speaker: Dr Kristina Llewellyn introduces Trailblazing: Women in Canada since 1867 (the display at The Museum here in KW. Women of all ages are welcome to attend. $5. at the door.

Collective Kitchen for College and University students is Tuesday Nov 28, 4pm in the Knox kitchen. Students, join us to make nutritious meals to take home. No charge. Bring your own containers.

Our last night of LOGOS for 2017 will be Celebrated with the LOGOS Christmas Dinner and Service on Dec 14 with Dinner at 6 pm and the Service starting at approximately 6:45 pm. We invite all members of the Congregation in joining us in the Joyous Dinner and/or Service of the Christmas Season. Please let Heather Purdy know by Nov. 23 if you plan to join us for our Christmas Turkey Dinner.  The cost for this dinner is just $5.00 and is payable when you arrive on Dec 14. LOGOS will resume again on January 11, 2018.

The Refugee Support Team is requesting donations of winter outerwear for the Al Dandal children, including ski jackets, snow pants, winter boots, hats, and mittens.  The needs are for a boy sizes 12 to 14, a girl sizes 8 to 10, and two girls sizes 6 to 8.  All donations must be clean and in good condition.  Thank you for your support!
