The crack of the bat hitting the ball for a home run, water lapping under the dock, the distant night time call of a loon, one mosquito’s buzzing close to your ear, falling asleep to a chorus of crickets, a paddle dipping in and out of the water as the canoe moves forward…these are some of the sounds of summer that thrill us.
Whether you have been travelling or staying at home, we hope you have been enjoying the days of the ever so brief, but lovely Canadian summer. It was good to take some time off and we are grateful for Janice Hamalainen, John-Peter Smit and Sheree Anderson who led worship and preached on Sundays and to Deb Schlicter our Clerk of Session and the Knox Staff for all their help.
As many of you have heard, Margaret Kuehl, our former Clerk of Session, Elder and Congregational Secretary passed away in British Columbia where she had been living for the last few years. Brooke and I officiated at a graveside committal with a small group of family. We will be planning a celebration of life for early in the fall and will let the congregation know. Marg so enjoyed all the emails and notes and letters over these last few years and her heart was always here in Waterloo.
Sunday, August 13th the sermon is “Move Those Feet!” and Daniel Corrigan will be providing special music.
As always if you are unable to join us in the sanctuary, we hope you’ll join us through the radio broadcast or livestreaming.
Peace and grace,
