The following message is sent on behalf of the Region of Waterloo:

Work on King Street is progressing, and Stage 2 of the project is anticipated to start on or around July 24!

This stage of the project involves the closure of King Street from Erb Street to the ION tracks; and Erb Street from Albert Street to King Street to all vehicular traffic starting on or around July 24th for approximately 10 weeks. King St. north of Erb to Bridgeport remains closed to traffic during this time.

Few things to note:

Parking lot entrance and exits to Waterloo Town Square (WTS) north lot will be maintained off of Caroline and Erb. One entrance/exit from Erb, either at Angie’s or the Atrium, will be available at all times. This entrance/exit will alternate as work progresses.

The two-way detour on Bridgeport will be extended to Albert Street for this stage.
During this time, one lane of traffic will be provided on Erb Street to allow vehicular access to Albert Street from Erb Street.

Getting Around:

Below is a map indicating the limits of work for this stage of the project, and the detour for motorists to get around the work area. Detour signs will be posted for motorists during stage 2 work.

Heading east on Erb you can use Albert to head north, or Caroline to William to King to head south

Heading north or south on King you can use Regina to get around from either William or Bridgeport. (this is the same detour for Stage 1)
